The Metals

My Palette

Paled-yellow Gold

Our Yellow Gold is 18 Karat, the perfect blend of the yellow Gold’s warmth, with a creamier quality, which is extremely beautiful - rich and refined - on all skin tones.

Rose Gold

Also 18Karat, Rose Gold is the result of an infusion of copper and a touch of silver, thus giving it that warm, rich, earthy quality that makes it such a beautiful metal, the silver successfully paling it from the otherwise ‘red gold’. The result is what we at TER call our “dusty rose”. Indeed this just might be our all-time favourite metal blend.

Silver

An underestimated and under appreciated metal, we wanted Silver to be a part of the collection, and it took multiple visits to different Casting Companies to find the quality we insisted on - a metal that is fine and bright, almost powder white at high shine, and yet one which lends itself so well to tarnished detailing. For some of the highly textured organic pieces, the more this metal wears, the better the product looks.

The Plates

Our plated line is something we are incredibly proud of, and here’s why.
There are a lot of bad plates out there, a LOT, and even high-end brands marketing “rose gold”, which quickly fades, rubs off, and marks the skin - giving plating a very bad name. What is typically being done is something called a “flash plate”, where the metals are exposed to the electrical plating solution for just a few seconds, to achieve the colour and appearance, at a low cost.  That isn’t our standard and not how we roll.

We are proud to say we are working with the incredible Tanury Industries to obtain the highest quality plate possible. Renowned as one of the best in their game, Tanury are of a level where they are also doing large scale pieces of Architectural and Aerospace work - think grand building interiors, yacht detailing and plane interiors. Plating to a standard we stand by of has been one of the biggest hurdles and we are so proud to now be working with Tanury.

We plate at 2microns, which is 80mil of Gold, fused to silver, or bronze on our larger, heavier pieces. It looks incredible, and it will last.

Ruthenium

In addition to all this, we do have available for certain pieces in a very unusual metal plate called Ruthenium. Ruthenium is a black metal with a high shine, which catches light beautifully. It’s a temperamental beast, and only adheres to gold. Consequently these pieces are initially gold-plated and then coated in ruthenium.

Ruthenium does as it pleases and, as it ‘wears in’, it starts revealing the gold beneath it, giving it a petroleum-type appearance. Our textures carry it well however, we love this metal. It makes a great complimentary accent in a ring ‘stacker pile-up’, or when ordering a piece like the Engrained Memory in several colours. It is very dramatic on the signature ‘The Journey’ cuff.

Commission

Anything can be made in almost any metal you choose, so please do contact me if you have any special desires or requests.

Platinum

Platinum is a white metal, but unlike gold it is much stronger, and therefore used in jewelry in almost its pure form (approximately 95% pure).
Platinum is extremely long wearing and is very white, so it does not need to be Rhodium plated like white gold.
Platinum is very dense (heavy), so a platinum ring will feel much heavier than an 18kt gold ring. It is, however, very expensive. A platinum ring will be approximately twice the price of an 18kt gold ring.
Almost any metal can be available, please contact us for pricing.
